Since the days have been getting warmer in Houston, I have been looking for more minimalistic clothing options with softer fabrics. I found this super chic shirt dress online a few weeks ago, but I was a bit skeptical about purchasing it. I haven’t owned a good shirt dress in years so I decided to purchase it. To my surprise, it was the perfect summer shirt dress!
I am completely in love with silhouette of the dress, the fabric and of course the color. The dress is not see-through, which was a concern because I didn’t want to wear a slip underneath. The only negative thing about this dress is the fact that it wrinkles very easily (as you can see in the pictures). I definitely ironed the shirt dress before wearing it and as soon as I sat in the car I knew it wasn’t going to hold, but I guess that’s the price you pay for cotton.
You can wear this dress with or without the belt. The belt definitely adds more definition to my body, but I also love the way it looks soo effortless without the belt. I prefer a more relaxed look for summer. I chose to wear this dress with heels because it is a bit long on me so I wanted to elongate my legs. I would highly recommend wearing this dress with gladiator sandals if you are going for a daytime look and if you are taller! You can also wear the dress with heels for a nighttime look.
